The addition of a 3nm Astrodon Hyrdogen Alpha filter to my 8 filter QSI is a fantastic additinon to my toolset. The great beauty of this wavelength is that it's imprevious to suburban light pollution, and more or less immune to moonlight (which suprised the socks off of me!).

Hydrogen WeekendLabor Day weekend 2012, I put the idea that you can do Hydrogen Alpha imaging in the moonlight to the test. Over three nights, I imaged three deep sky objects, and even shot the moon in Ha, and OIII. OIII on DSO's was pointless, but the Ha did very well I thought.

The Pelican NebulaThis object is a hydrogen alpha dream object. I never could figure out it was called the Pelican until I turned it on it's side and looked at it this way!
